Chris Grava

Chris Grava is a designer and visual storyteller specializing in data visualization, infographic design, and video production.

He has created strategic commercial designs and videos for clients around the world, ranging from community-based organizations, nonprofits, and government departments to technology startups, venture capital firms, and leading management consulting practices. His personal video and digital art projects have been exhibited at Gallery One11 (Cape Town), CAMA Gallery (London/Los Angeles), Dome Fest West (Los Angeles), and Iziko Museums of South Africa, as well as independent art and animation festivals in China, Poland, and Portugal.

Chris is the Co-Founder and Creative Director of Intsikelelo, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering vulnerable individuals in South Africa through community-led initiatives. Intsikelelo’s impact has included expanding services at community centers and after-school programs, launching skills training and healthcare initiatives in underserved communities, and sponsoring and mentoring first-generation university students. Chris’s videos for Intsikelelo have reached millions of views online, earned a sponsorship from GoPro, and crowdfunded unique projects such as the Langbos Children’s Centre.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with minors in English and Corporate Strategy from Vanderbilt University, and has pursued further studies at Harvard University, New York University, the University of Cape Town, ORMS Cape Town School of Photography, and Academy of Digital Arts Cape Town.
